Hello!
I'm Marie Rowe, and welcome to Marie Rowe Travel.
Travel has always been my passion - not just as a way to escape, but as a way to explore, connect, and experience the world in a way that’s deeply personal and meaningful. Over the years, I’ve travelled the world and crafted itineraries for discerning clients just like you. My mission is simple: to make your travel dreams a reality, while taking care of every detail with care, expertise, and attention.

As an independent travel advisor, I offer a level of personalised service that larger agencies simply can’t match. My clients don’t get a call centre or a rotating staff member - you get me, every step of the way. I take the time to get to know you, your preferences, and your dreams, ensuring that your journey is tailored perfectly to your needs. Whether it’s a luxurious honeymoon in the Maldives, a family getaway to Costa Rica, or a solo adventure in Japan, I’ll design a trip that feels just right.

I believe that travel should not only enrich your life but should also leave a positive mark on the world. That’s why I’ve woven responsible travel into the heart of everything I do. From recommending sustainable hotels to supporting reforestation projects through my partnership with TreeSisters, I ensure that every journey I plan is both beautiful and conscientious.

When you book with me, you’re choosing more than just a trip - you’re choosing an experience that’s crafted with heart. With the full backing of Travel Counsellors, you’ll enjoy 100% financial protection and the reassurance that I’m here to support you, day or night, throughout your entire journey.

My Journey
My career in travel grew from a love of exploration paired with a strong instinct for organisation, detail and care. Over time, I saw how easily travel could become transactional or rushed, and how often people were overwhelmed by choice rather than supported by expertise.
Marie Rowe Travel was created to offer something different: a calm, considered service where clients feel listened to and journeys are shaped thoughtfully, not hurried into existence. Every trip I design begins with understanding how someone wants to travel, not simply where they want to go.

My Experience
I’ve experienced many of the journeys, landscapes and moments that shape the trips I design - from riding Switzerland’s iconic panoramic trains, to tracing Silk Road history through Uzbekistan, to tasting wines in South Africa and Argentina, to watching the sun rise over the Taj Mahal and set over Table Mountain.

I’ve stood on the Great Wall of China, visited the Colosseum, explored Petra, seen Christ the Redeemer, and experienced travel in ways that stay with you - sleeping under the stars in bubble tents in the Arabian desert, floating in a hot air balloon over Cappadocia, and flying by helicopter above Thousand Islands.

These experiences don’t sit on a checklist. They inform how I think about pacing, location, logistics and what truly elevates a journey.
Travelling Responsibly
When it comes to travelling responsibly, I practise what I preach. I’m mindful of how and when I travel, the partners I choose and the experiences I support. It’s why I favour journeys that prioritise local expertise, cultural respect and long-term stewardship over quick highlights.
One of my personal travel missions is to visit all Seven New Wonders of the World responsibly. So far, I’ve experienced five - with Chichén Itzá and Machu Picchu still to come.
For me, how these places are visited matters just as much as seeing them at all.

How I Work
When clients work with me, they’re not handed a template or rushed towards a decision. I listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions and take the time to refine each itinerary until it feels right. I act as an advocate, guide and problem-solver, supported by my membership with the Travel Counsellors franchise network and 24/7 global support.

My expertise is backed by professional credentials, but my approach is always human. Calm planning, honest advice and a genuine interest in creating journeys that feel meaningful rather than performative.
My Inspiration
I’m endlessly inspired by travel that slows things down - rail journeys through vast landscapes, places where culture is lived rather than displayed, and experiences that allow time to notice the details.

I’m particularly drawn to the world’s great rail journeys and hope to experience more of them, including the Rocky Mountaineer, Rovos Rail and the Golden Eagle Silk Road Express. They represent everything I value in travel: perspective, intention and the joy of the journey itself.
