Responsible Travel

Travelling well, with care and conscience.

Responsible travel isn’t about travelling less. It’s about travelling better. In recent years, more of us have started to think about the impact our holidays have on the world: the environments we explore, the wildlife we encounter, and the communities that welcome us in. The shift isn’t driven by guilt but by a growing desire to protect the very places that make travel so extraordinary.

For me, responsible travel is simply thoughtful travel. It’s choosing experiences that enrich both the traveller and the destination. It’s favouring quality over convenience, depth over ticking boxes, and genuine connection over passivity. And it’s recognising that the small decisions we make - where we stay, who we support, how we move through a place - can create meaningful, positive change.

The holidays I design are shaped by these principles. They’re tailor-made with the same care and creativity you’d expect, but with an added layer of intention: to ensure that every journey leaves a lighter footprint and a deeper sense of connection.

Making a Positive Difference

Every itinerary is crafted with these commitments in mind, ensuring your adventure is not only unforgettable but also considerate of the natural world, local communities and the species that share it.

Kind to the Natural World

The most memorable landscapes are often the most fragile, which is why I choose partners who prioritise conservation and thoughtful resource use. From low-impact lodges to nature-led experiences, your itinerary is shaped with respect for the natural world and the ecosystems that sustain it.

Kind to Wildlife & Oceans

I only work with guides and operators who protect the species and habitats they introduce you to. Whether it’s a safari, a marine experience, or a wildlife encounter, your trip is designed to support ethical practices that safeguard animals and oceans rather than exploit them.

Kind to People & Cultures

Travel is at its best when it uplifts the communities who bring each destination to life. I collaborate with partners who champion local employment, cultural preservation and fair opportunities, ensuring your journey contributes positively to the people and places you experience.

What Makes Me a Trusted Expert in Responsible Travel

Responsible travel isn’t an afterthought in my work; it’s a core part of who I am as a travel advisor. I’m a GSTC Certified Sustainable Travel Agent, trained to recognise and champion global best practice in sustainability.

Since 2023, I’ve also been a TTG Sustainable Travel Ambassador, one of the first travel advisors to complete the programme. These qualifications allow me to guide clients with clarity, honesty and real expertise, helping you make choices that feel aligned with your values without compromising on comfort or experience.

My commitment is ongoing. I stay close to the latest sustainability standards, build relationships with responsible partners around the world, and continue to develop my understanding of how travel can be a force for good.

Supporting TreeSisters

Giving Back

I’m proud to support TreeSisters, a charity that goes far beyond planting trees. They fund ethical, community-led reforestation in places like Brazil, Borneo, Colombia, Cameroon, India, Kenya and beyond - always with women, communities and nature at their heart.

Their approach doesn’t focus simply on how many trees are planted, but how those trees support local livelihoods, empower indigenous voices, and strengthen entire ecosystems.

Since the beginning of 2024, I have committed a portion of every holiday booking to TreeSisters, helping restore diverse forest habitats, protect critically endangered species and bring about change that includes people as much as the planet.

My Responsible Travel Pledge

Responsible travel is something I actively practise, not simply promote. As both a travel advisor and a traveller myself, I’m committed to designing and experiencing journeys with care for people, place and planet. This means approaching every destination as a guest rather than a tourist, minimising single-use plastics, embracing local culture and traditions, and supporting independently owned businesses, artisans and guides. I’m mindful of carbon impact, favouring slower, more considered travel where possible and selecting hotels with strong environmental credentials. I do not support unethical wildlife encounters, and I believe in sharing positive examples of responsible travel to inspire greater awareness. This pledge guides how I travel personally and underpins the holidays I design for my clients.
